Modern Languages: Girls take either French or German in Year 7 to give them a good strong start in language learning skills. From Year 8, they learn two languages for two years. They can then choose from French, German and Russian for GCSE. Able linguists can choose to study all three. Lessons are active, using songs, drama, art, computers, games and books. The department has the help of foreign language assistants and is experienced in helping pupils with varied language experience.
There are exchanges, trips, correspondence links and opportunities to see and take part in a variety of MFL activities such as language days and drama workshops.
